WILKES-BARRE TIMES – LEADER: A review by the Pennsylvania School Boards Association found that nearly 25 percent of the schools recently dubbed “low achieving” by the state met student achievement targets set by the state in 2010-11.
“Labeling these schools as low-achieving when they have met the student achievement standards set by the state and federal government functions to create two separate and conflicting measurements for student achievement,” the PSBA said in a press release.
