INTELLIGENCER NEW ERA

Article “Project would displace city store” reports “Radel &Stauffer plans to close in January because of planned residential and retail development…”

WATCHDOG: NewsLanc’s publisher (and real estate developer) had noted the 52,000 square foot building and its potential for conversion into about fifty downtown condominium apartments.  The location in the one hundred block of Water Street is ideal in proximity to the Central Market and other downtown attractions, and yet somewhat remote from heavy traffic.

It is a project that should be doable with conventional financing.  Let’s hope the City, State and federal governments won’t provide heavy subsidies.

Ah to be young again!  (Not really.)
