11th-hour contracts: City of Harrisburg needs to challenge former mayor’s end-of-tenure deals

If Harrisburg had lost the case, it would have paid an estimated $2.6 million, which as acting city Solicitor Jason Hess aptly summed up on the case, “It’s a big savings for the city.”

EDITOR: Despite Gov. Tom Corbett’s efforts to prevent Harrisburg from seeking bankruptcy court protection, the above is all the more reason why this should take place.  Of course the governor and his predecessors have a lot to fear from any federal court inquiry.
