Sestak admits earmark error with for-profit firm

U.S. Rep. Joe Sestak yesterday revised his explanation from earlier this week about how his request for $350,000 in federal funding for a nonprofit group was really linked to a for-profit company.

Sestak on Monday said that he had no idea that Drew Devitt, the founder of the nonprofit Thomas Paine Foundation, was connected to a for-profit company involved in the funding to build a prototype for an energy-producing wind turbine that would float out at sea.

Sestak yesterday released documents that show clear connections between Devitt’s request for funding under the name of the nonprofit and his for-profit company, New Way Energy LLC…
