PSU needs to look beyond school insiders to fill key leadership roles

At the heart of the Penn State child sex abuse scandal was a university administration that made poor decisions.

At best, the school leaders failed to recognize and report an allegedly serious crime. At worst, the administrative team covered it up for years.

EDITOR: We disagree.  The heart of the problem lies with the failure of Tom Corbett as Attorney General to properly investigate the allegations and his shameful attempt as governor to deflect criticism by leading the pack in a rush to judgment.  It is essential that Corbett rescues himself from taking part in the appointment of the new Penn State executives and future board trustees.
