Penn State’s McGloin hurt in practice fight

Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin suffered a seizure and a possible concussion during a post-practice fight with a teammate, the quarterback’s father, Paul McGloin, said.

Paul McGloin said his son was resting comfortably in his apartment Saturday night after being tended to at Mount Nittany Medical center in the afternoon. Matt McGloin’s status for the bowl game is up in the air, and his mother, Cathy, will stay with him overnight to monitor his condition.

Wide receiver Curtis Drake and McGloin allegedly argued in the locker room . University police said they are aware of the incident and that campus police and the Office of Judicial Affairs will look into the matter as they would for any Penn State student. EDITOR: We can only speculate the impact of the recent scandals and the handling by the authorities may have created the stress and leadership void that contributed dto this unfortunate incident.  In retrospect, was the firing of Coach Joe Paterno a ‘rush to judgment’ and too opportunistic?
