New US home sales fall to record low

New US home sales fell to the lowest level on record in February, as buyers opted instead for foreclosed and distressed properties, official figures showed on Wednesday.

Separately, new orders for US durable goods rose for the third month running in February, as companies continued to ramp up purchases to meet rekindling demand.
