    Although we have come to oppose the Convention Center / Hotel Project because of the findings of the independent PKF Consultants� Feasibility Report that recommended "a downsizing of the project or an alternate use of the site," we differ with Commissioners Henderson and Shellenberger that an exploration is appropriate concerning shrinking the geographic region to which the hotel sales tax would apply.  Considering that a $40 million note exists predicated upon historic and anticipated revenues from all of the county hotels, we believe such discussions would be about an action of doubtful legality and poor public policy.  However, we welcome these countywide opportunities for dialogue between the public and the commissioners concerning this controversial project.
