LETTER: Why are people saying NewsLanc went out of business?

QUESTION: Why has everyone been telling me that you were no longer in business and no longer reporting on Lancaster County news?

REPLY: For years most people experienced NewsLanc through newsletters handed out at the Central Market and Clipper Stadium. This year we eliminated hand outs and expanded our web site onto Facebook/newslanc.com

There seems to be two separate readerships, those who read handbills and those who visit the web site.

Also, the newsletters focused on Lancaster.

Although NewsLanc continues to report on Lancaster media, health care and government, it also covers the state with the help of our CapitolWire news feed and Bill Keisling’s popular columns, and also reports and comments on country and world. Hence the adoption of the alternate URL of www.RealReporting.org.

An example of national and world is Slava Tsukerkman’s heavily visited series on Russia. His audience is largely generated through Google.

Our web site audience has greatly expanded, perhaps tripled, often reaching and surpassing a thousand a day, and at times almost five thousands

If you want to help out, mention NewsLanc.com or RealReporting.org to your friends.
