INTELLIGENCER NEW ERA

Article “Crash kills E. Donegal motorcyclist” opens “A Mount Joy man died when he wrecked his motorcycle in East Donegal Township early Thursday morning, police said.”

WATCHDOG: Two criticisms, one small and the other very serious.   The former:   Why is it that cars go “out of control” but “he wrecked his motorcycle?” Given the greater skill and caution required on a cycle due to dangerous road conditions and careless car drivers, if anything the descriptions should be reversed.  If a cyclist doesn’t  see  gravel or an oil slick on the road, he or she is likely to have an accident.

Far more importantly, once again the Intell has failed to report on whether the cyclist and / or passenger were wearing helmets!   Other than for those who know the unfortunate cyclist, that is the most pertinent information.

Growl!
