INTELLIGENCER JOURNAL

From “Four accused in hotel burglary”:

“The Hotel Brunswick had been closed for several months, but the burglars hoped to find loot that had been left inside the shuttered building on Lancaster Square.

“They did.

“The haul: a whopping $12 worth of change and snacks; one walkie-talkie worth about $150; and copper piping and brass fittings.

“The damage they did to the building: $12,600, police said.

“Five people now face charges of burglary or other offenses in connection to the Oct. 26 break-in at the 151 N. Queen St. hotel.”

WATCHDOG: Compared to an estimated ten million dollars in damage done to the Brunswick by poor City policy over the past decades, the break-in was like a mosquito bite on the rump of an elephant. But it gets big coverage.

In case the Lancaster Newspapers haven’t noticed, the Brunswick remains closed with no apparent plan to open. The rest of Lancaster Square is closed also except for a parking garage. Somehow this goes unreported and not discussed. But then why would the newspapers, a partner in the Marriott Hotel, want the Brunswick re-opened? Growl!

  1. Once again you have hit the nail on the head!!!

Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. is one of the most self-serving and egotistical entities (right up the with High Associates) to ever foist their position on Lancaster City and County.

I can’t imagine that the founding fathers of LNP would be so adamant about getting “their way” at the cost of taxpayers.
