The editorial “Wasting tax breaks” opines “It always seemed that states were using millions of dollars in taxpayer money in the form of loans, training grants, tax abatements and infrastructure improvements to buy hope – and, often, little else.

“This view has now been reinforced by a new study that looked at Pennsylvania’s economic development efforts relating to attracting high-tech business – and compared them to action in six other states – and found little gain here….It’s time states stopped fighting among themselves…”

WATCHDOG: A wag of the tail!  Because each state is trying to get a leg up on others, the net gain is zero and the taxpayers are being fleeced.
