Penn State’s alumni-elected trustees will have access to Freeh documents

PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE: A court ruled Thursday that Penn State’s seven alumni-elected trustees will have access to Freeh report source documents, concluding a court fight against the university that stems from the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal…

A statement Thursday evening from the seven trustees called the ruling “thoughtful, thorough and correct,” adding they had maintained that it wasn’t in Penn State’s best interest to withhold documents.

“It is time for the trustees to discharge their fiduciary duties without impediment, discover the truth and move forward in the best interests of the Pennsylvania State University,” the statement said… (more)

EDITOR: NewsLanc from the outset has maintained that former FBI director Louis Freeh was a “cat’s paw” for Gov. Tom Corbett and his followers on the board who character assassinated and ruthlessly fired Coach Joe Paterno. From the day of the incident, he was apparent to us the Corbet sought to re-direct public attention from his “slow walking” of the Sandusky investigation while attorney general.

Freeh’s so call investigation was a sham and a travesty. We hope we will be hearing more about this once the information is provided to the trustees..
