Kudos to LNP editorial board for speaking out against ‘alms for the rich’ (when it pertains to others)

LNP editorial “Tax breaks for Rock Lititz should be digested with a dose of skepticism” goes on to comment:

“Reinforcing Lancaster County’s status as a live-industry hub is a good thing. Rock Lititz is a unique, state-of-the-art facility — a 52,000-square-foot, 100-foot tall production venue the size of a supermarket. And if the tax incentive helps attract a big-name act or two to Clipper Magazine Stadium, fantastic.

“But the state has already made a significant investment in Rock Lititz — a $3 million grant toward initial construction of the studio and low-interest loans of $5.45 million for a second, multi-tenant facility…”

Yes, there are more important uses for scarce taxes payers dollars than to further subsidize very successful businesses.

And we believe the same applies to the Steinman interests which include LNP and the interests of Dale High, their partner in Penn Square Partners, equitable owners of the downtown Marriott Hotel.  The two are the biggest hogs in the region for feeding at the public trough.

  1. There are no limits to the arrogance of LNP ownership/management and the ‘Editorial Board’ when it comes to criticizing projects being financed by taxpayer funds; unless it involves their own money-pit, aka con-center and Marriott.

LNP and PSP have become the two biggest disgraces in the history of Lancaster County. Previous generations of these once-respected families must be rolling over in their graves.
