Gov. Tom Corbett gives Harrisburg mayor state takeover talking-to

Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson held a news conference this afternoon to reiterate Gov. Tom Corbett’s sentiments about a state takeover of the city due to its financial crisis.

Thompson met with Corbett today, and not surprisingly, he assured her that Harrisburg can count on a state takeover should the City Council vote down the fiscal recovery plan she created.

Thompson and Corbett discussed the plan she had to create after the council rejected the state-sponsored Act 47 plan that addressed the city’s $310 million of incinerator debt and its budget deficit on July 19…

  1. Isn’t anyone questioning Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson’s credibility? People are not lead by a ring in the nose; they follow when they believe you are principled, strong and trustworthy. It’s safe to say that her administration is a failure. How do you spell i-m-p-e-a-c-h?
