Criticizes newspapers, football coach, athletic director

God bless Chris Given [the wife of McCaskey’s football coach] and may he restore her health as he deems. I mention her only because the belabored articles in the Lancaster Newspapers went on and on about her health as it pertains to the McCaskey Football team and her husband David Given’s choice to resign or need to do so.

I was reminded that in the summer David Given was attempting to decline the job to be there for his wife and that Jon Mitchell told him WE will wait. I must ask who is we? Is that Drue, Pedro, and Jon Mitchell?

No one knows what the Lord has in store, but the School District of Lancaster is only supposed to be stocking things that are in the best interest of the children. Given has not been a good fit; local talented coaches should be sought. We had some and because Mitchell is not a professional they have gone on to do great things in other places with and for other kids.

David Given came to us with a heavy heart and no teaching certification, yet people that have served in the district have been stripped of their jobs and salaries for not having certifications and not even getting the chance to get an emergency one. Did Given ever get his certification?

Lastly it was reported that Jon Mitchell is the former Wrestling Coach—that is incorrect. He is the Varsity Wrestling Coach as well as the [inept] Athletic Director for McCaskey, and yes they are both paid positions!

"....I have never made it a consideration whether the subject was popular or unpopular, but whether it was right or wrong; for that which is right will become popular, and that which is wrong, though by mistake it may obtain the cry or fashion of the day, will soon lose the power of delusion, and sink into disesteem." Thomas Paine, Common Sense, on "Financing the War", March 5, 1782
