WATCHDOG: Several months ago, NewsLanc editorialized about the dangers of the over-proliferation of shopping malls. Park City is our second downtown. If there is over building, it also could start to generate vacancies. And once that starts to happen…look out! Instead of being the region’s pride and joy, it could become a seedy, worn and ultimately nearly deserted fiasco. And there would go a large portion of the City’s and School District of Lancaster’s tax base.
NewsLanc urged planning boards and supervisors to consider the potential dire impact on the region of commercially rezoning large tracts of agriculture, residential and industrial property.
